Mike Swabowski joined the Gates Biomanufacturing Facility (GBF) in July of 2025 as the Director of Operations. He brings more than two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, having held leadership roles across quality assurance, quality control, validation, supply chain and manufacturing in both large-scale commercial and clinical manufacturing environments.

Mike previously held leadership positions at AGC Biologics, ThermoFisher Scientific and Mallinckrodt. Mike has extensive experience leading cross-functional teams through quality system design, inspection readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. He has supported multiple regulatory inspections, including those by the FDA and EMA, and is known for his strategic, patient-focused approach to leadership.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois Chicago.
